Joshi shared glimpses of his visit on social media, posting photographs from his walk across the IIT Madras campus. In his post, the minister said he had the opportunity to meet students along the way and exchange thoughts on their vision for the country.
“Started the morning with a refreshing walk across the @iitmadras [IIT Madras] campus,” Joshi wrote, adding that he interacted with students and heard about their experiences and aspirations.
STUDENTS’ ASPIRATIONS AND IDEAS FOR INDIA’S FUTURE
The minister said the students’ enthusiasm, ideas and energy made the morning “especially meaningful” and reaffirmed the immense potential of India’s youth.
The informal interaction comes against the backdrop of growing emphasis on innovation, research and the role of India’s higher education institutions in shaping the country’s future.
