Hyderabad: Bhadradri Kothagudem ranked seventh among districts and district groupings nationally for the share of 15-29-year-olds who were not in education, employment or training (NEET), with a rate of 42.7%, according to the âLabour Market Snapshot of Selected Districtsâ report released by the NSO. The rate was 17.7 percentage points above the national average of 25% recorded in Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) 2025.Bhadradri Kothagudem was the only Telangana entry in the national top 10. Anugul in Odisha topped the list at 56.1%, followed by Kendrapara at 51.4%, Dhenkanal at 45.3%, Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu at 44.9%, North Delhi at 44.3% and Pashchim Champaran in Bihar at 43.6%.Within Telangana, Khammam recorded the second-highest NEET rate at 38.2%, followed by the grouping of Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Jangaon and Mulugu at 38%. Mancherial and Peddapalli each recorded 33.9%, while Medak stood at 33%, Medchal-Malkajgiri at 32.6%, Nirmal at 31.7% and Nizamabad at 31.6%.In all, 13 of Telanganaâs 25 district or district-group entries recorded NEET rates above the national average of 25%. Rajanna Sircilla recorded 26.7%, while Rangareddy was marginally above the national level at 25.5%.Several districts recorded substantially lower rates. Hyderabad had a NEET rate of 13.2%, while the five-district grouping of Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Jogulamba Gadwal, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool and Narayanpet recorded the lowest rate in Telangana at 10.5%.
